My 6 month old son loved this toy from week one. We received it as a shower gift and had no idea how important it would become. My son cried A LOT the first 2 1/2 months and this bird ALWAYS stopped him from crying. He loves the chirping sound and the color. When my son was first born we didn't go anywhere without it due to its stop-the-crying powers. It was great for eye tracking exercises early on, too, because of it being red. The battery went out on the first bird we had, so my husband opened him up, replaced the battery and sewed him back up. Meanwhile, I had panicked and found another one at a national retailer. So, we have two, but my son loves it so much it's convenient to have both. The battery has recently gone out again on the original...don't know if it's defective or if we really use it that much.
